Turmeric is a spice made from the rhizomes of the Curcuma longa plant that are used fresh or boiled in water, dried and milled. The result is a deep orange-yellow powder commonly used as a colouring and flavouring agent in many cuisines Asian, especially for curry, as well as for dyeing.
