Takuan is the result of a process of pickling Japanese rump (daikon) which begins with the drying of the same by the action of the sun for several months which is then immersed in a solution of salt, rice yeast, sugar and some ingredients that vary from region to region. The result is a delicious accompaniment that is suitable for any kind of Japanese meal from soup to sushi and even used as a snack!
Ingredients:
Radish (88%), Water, Salt, Sugar, Acidity regulators [Citric acid, Acetic acid], Flavour enhancers [Monosodium glutamate, Disodium 5”-ribonucleotides], Sweetener [Aspartame*], Preservative [Potassium sorbate]. *Contains a source of Phenylalanine.
Storage:
Store in a cool and dry place. Once opened keep refrigerated and consume within 3 days.
