Product Description
Spirulina is a microalgae that dates back more than 3.5 billion years. Terre Exotique’s Spirulina is produced in the Côtes d’Armor in Brittany and is cultivated in closed-circuit water tanks for ecological and sustainable purposes. The natural habitat of microalgae needs to be perfectly reproduced in order for it to thrive, requiring very specific conditions. The water in the tanks must be salty and the pH must be between 9.5 and 10.5. It needs to be exposed to light and shade, but it must also be protected by shade sails to avoid prolonged overexposure.
Spirulina’s delicate flavour has slightly bitter notes of iodine and hints of matcha green tea. Spirulina is gently subtle and mild.
