Bourbon vanilla, or Madagascar vanilla has a very distinctive aroma of warm milk chocolate. Releasing both floral and slightly roasted notes, Madagascar vanilla’s aromas develop empyreumatic hints of camphor.
Grown and cured on Madagascar Island, each vanilla pod is manually selected for its freshness and fragrance. The full, sweet, creamy and smooth flavour with velvety after tones is long lasting and found in both pods and seeds. Vanilla seeds add gourmet visual to a variety of applications, from cooking to baking as well as cold and frozen desserts.
Preparation Suggestion:
Start by flattening the pod with the back of a knife. Then, split the pod lengthways, with the tip of a sharp knife. Scrape the vanilla seeds carefully out of the pod to use them in your recipes. Don’t throw away the empty pod! Infuse it in milk or cream and use in your desserts. Our tip: pop the vanilla pod in a pot of sugar for a deliciously flavoured sugar.
Usage Suggestions:
Infuse 2 pods of Bourbon vanilla in milk or sugar to use in your desserts. You can also use their precious seeds to flavour butter to sweeten up fish and shellfish dishes.
