Product Description
Rendang is a mixture of spices used to make a richly flavoured meat dish that is very popular in Indonesia. Originating in Sumatra, it was served on occasions to honour guests. In 2011 it was named by CNN as the number one dish of the 50 most delicious foods in the world. It is slowly made with coconut milk and rich spices until the sauce is thick and consistent. Rendang uses the following ingredients are coriander, pepper, citronella, ginger, turmeric, galangal, chilli, chives and garlic.
Ingredients:
Shallot (40%), palm oil, salt, chili (10%), garlic (6%), white pepper (4%), coriander (2%), ginger, lemongrass.
Storage:
Store in a cool dry place.
Preparation Suggestion:
Boil 500g cubed beef until tender. Allow 500ml of broth to remain in the pan. Add Bamboe Rendang and optional for stronger taste: 2 lime leaves and 1 stalk lemongrass (bruised). Cook and simmer to reduce soup. Pour in 3 cups of coconut milk. Simmer ad stir ocasionally until sauce has reduced to gravy.
