Lemon Cake With Poppy Seeds

Ingredients
For the Cake:

150 g Butter

3 eggs

Zest of 1 Lemon

100 g Grated Coconut

225 g Flour with Yeast

200 ml semi-skimmed milk

1 c. poppy seed soup
For the syrup:

Juice of 1 and a half lemon
To decorate:

Poppy Seeds (to taste)

Lemon slices (to taste)
Preparation Method
- Grease a tray with butter and line it with parchment paper. Then heat the oven to 180ºC and concentrate now on the cake batter.
- In a bowl, place 150 g of softened butter, mix in 180 g of sugar and mix everything with the mixer.
- Add 3 eggs and lemon zest and beat again for 3 minutes.
- Then add half of the flour and grated coconut, and the poppy seeds.
- Beat a little more and then add the milk and the rest of the flour and coconut, to beat again.
- Place the dough on the tray and bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add sugar and lemon juice to a pan and bring to a boil so that they turn into syrup.
- Don’t forget to stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Finally, remove the cake from the oven and the syrup from the heat, and let them cool a little before adding them to the table, accompanied by poppy seeds and a slice of lemon.
